Any work that Bill Moyers does is thoughtful, penetrating, revealing and of the highest quality. In this particular series each of the four videos has a different theme and features interviews with patients, hospice workers, volunteers and medical professionals across the country.
The videos present the difficult choices that we as a society face as life prolonging measures become more accessible. It presents the work of palliative care programs, end of life decision making, a debate on physician assisted suicide and the challenges and rewards of hospice work especially in economically disadvantaged communities.
This is a terrific series and one that hospices will want to have to share with caregivers, terminal patients and the community. It's a "must have" for hospices. It is available at PBS.org.
