This book serves to remind one that
it is always best to regard written accounts of
or about esoteric subjects with a highly
critical attitude. Anything which has not
been personally verified with signed copies
in triplicate is probably not worth talking
about, and even then... This doesn't mean
that one cannot compile data until it is
either seen to be worthwhile, true, or
not. In fact one thing that we can do together
as "seekers after truth" is to collect
data and share it. No one is asking another to
believe anything, just comparing notes.
As this book does all it can to ridicule
belief in reincarnation, (and public figures
who have in some way or another professed
such a belief), it makes some
philosophical arguments which don't seem
to string together in a very organized
way. It does warn us of the pitfalls of
fatuous, unexamined belief, and is valuable in
this regard. It would be a book to include
in ones library if for this reason alone.
As for the pioneers and investigators
in the field of reincarnation, we say, " Ply on!"
As long as we can keep an open attitude
of serious inquiry, we may be able to make
use of the information or sources you
have found.
